The Alberta Motor Association is warning motorists they face a long wait if they breakdown in the frigid winter weather that has gripped the province.

"They realize that we got a record yesterday of the coldest city in North America, so that type of dubious honour comes with some other things," said AMA spokesperson Kent Dixon.

Wait times for a tow can be up to 24 hours, while the wait for a boost can be up to 20 hours, he said.. a+ n6 J. B; I: l; G: e
- H& o% z3 U6 [) ?( M& T I"We are responding to member calls 24 hours a day. Our folks are out there. We've got 400 trucks across the province dealing with member calls, so we're getting to them as quickly as we possibly can."

Plugging in your vehicle is a must in these temperatures, Dixon said, adding that it's vital to dress warmly enough to be safe if your vehicle breaks down. |
