Vehicle requirement for the class 5 road test?

My question is that I want to borrow my friend's car for my basic class 5 road test. But I do not know if there is any requirement for the vehicle to be eligible for the road test. Since my friend says that his car cannot be used for road test, but I don't know why? Is air bag a requirement for road test?
