I grew up in Toronto, finished high school there. Then I went to Mcgill and I spent 8 years on that ugly campus. If you compare lifestyle and cities Montreal's no good compared to Toronto. Much better Chinese community, restaurants, entertainment in Toronto. Now if you compare Universities themselves UofT is much more intense, competitive and the students are of much higher quality. McGill students are party people, generally more lazy, but that means a lot less competition and you'll have a much easier time getting a good GPA. Since where you go for undergraduate studies has little bearing on where you may go for medical school, I'd say go to McGill if you want to go to professional school after your bachelors. However, if you do go to Mcgill don't expect to stay there for medical school because there's a quota on the number of students from out of province. My class had about 10 students from out of Quebec, and none of them had done their undergrad at McGill. You can get good marks at McGill then run off to Ontario for medical school. If you go to UofT you would have to work your F***in @$$ off to beat the competition and get good marks for medical school. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer. |
