An intense low pressure system is moving through Northern Alberta today bringing heavy snow and freezing rain. The heaviest snow is currently expected to fall in a band from south of Rainbow Lake to mildred lake with accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres by Friday morning. Freezing rain is expected along with the heavy snow today. Presently there is an area of freezing rain from Red Earth to Cold Lake and Fort McMurray. The freezing rain is moving eastward into Saskatchewan and will end early this afternoon in Red Earth and Cold Lake and later this afternoon in Fort McMurray
