* T- ^- z- l& \: `0 nChina is the 3rd largest country in the world and has many many great places of interest. Some of them are so unique that you would surely regret if you didn't pay a visit when you had the chance. I have been to almost all major scenic spots of China. The following is what I recommend and how I feel.

% S' H0 R2 g+ r3 s( d9 a1. Jiuzhaigou.

  y, I$ ]3 T( [: Q9 h" M: U0 W
5 S  w, c* M) T5 a- C# b  rIt locates in Sichuan Province,southwest of China. A really amazing place. After going there, you need not go to other places to see rivers,streams,waterfalls,lakes or even the sea. The earth is covered with water. It is definitely not rare;however,when in Jiuzhaigou,you will know the reason why god made waters. The colors of the waters there can only appear in one's dreams. Believe me, words will fail you even if you are a talkative person. Just go and see by yourself. You won't regret.

To go there, you can fly to the city of Chengdu first and then you can go to Jiuzhaigou by air or by bus. I went there by bus. Ten hours' ride. I have to say it was dangerous but interesting. I had a really good time on the road. I may write about it in another article. But if you are not brave enough, just take the plane. Safe and fast.

When you go to Jiuzhai,you can also go to Huanglong(yellow dragon).Not far. Another wonderful place. If by bus,the 2 places,1500RMB, 4 days, you can enjoy the natural wonders then.

2. Tibet

2 \4 Q% O( j/ S/ JDo you want to experience the feelings of body in the hell while soul in the heaven? Do you want to be in a place closest to the sky? Have you ever dreamed of catching a bag of clouds to make a pillow? Do you want to go through 4 seasons in one day? Have you ever felt dizzy for lack of oxygen? Do you desire to breathe in the air from the highest mountain of the world, Zhumulangma(Mount Everest)? Do you want to know if you can live with high altitude syndromes? Do you want to witness the grand Budala Palace and listen to Budhas' love stories? Do you want to talk to or just watch those pilgrims who spend all their lives doing only one thing -- walking thousands of miles and prostrating themselves along the journey by walking for 3 paces, face down on the ground, rocky path, or wherever their journy takes them to get to?

# q/ _' E# d! \+ @; b( d! tIt is the homeland of your soul. Start off! Take a deep breath and bring your soul with you.

haha... or with me! I've been there last summer and would like to go there again some day. You can go to Beijing first and then choose to go to Tibet by air or by train. Fare: 2430 RMB(air--5 hours);813RMB(train--47hours--very slow,less high altitude syndrome tho).

4. Shanghai

) Z. y, r% f" q- J. z  b( RTo be honest, i hesitated a lot before i put this city in my list. But if I didn't write something about it, people who read my articles would not have a complete picture of modern China then. Walking on the streets of Shanghai, among people of different colors, overwhelmed by those skyscrapers, you may have an illusion that you were not in Shanghai but in New York or some other world-famous modern cities.

You can get whatever you want in such a modern city or even more than you have expected. Explore the nights in Shanghai by yourself . How far you can go is totally determined by yourself.

But never forget that you are in China, a country which is never  in want of historical attractions. Yuyuan Private Gardon and Chenghuang Temple (Town's God Temple)  can be two good places for you to turn to for inside peacefulness. I've been to these 2 places. Not bad. There are also many other places you can resort to. Have a look, if you have enough time:

Do you love mountains? If you do, you will like this place then. According to many ancient Chinese intellects there are 5 most famous mountains in China(I've been to 3, just soso). And then some people visited Huangshan (Yellow) Mountain and found that the latter was far more beautiful than them so they said that you would have no wish to visit any other mountains after viewing the Five Mountains; you would not even wish to visit them after you came back from a trip to Huangshan Mountain. Huangshan Mountain is really beautiful, but I'd like to introduce Zhangjiajie first because i think that Zhangjiajie is more fascinating than Huangshan Mountain.

9 M! ]& k' O* Q; FYou can spend 3 days or more there. As far as i am concerned, 2 spots are the most impressive--Bailong Tianti (White dragon sky elevator) and Wulong Zhai (Black dragon mountain fastness). Just ensure that you won't miss them if you go there. The moment I went out of the highest elevator inside a mountain of the world, I was really shocked at what I saw--48 bright yellow stalagmites standing there, so high that you can not even see where their roots are. Just imagine how those phallic ancient people would feel when looking at this...  OK, now let's move on to the next spot. Only brave and slim people can go to Wulong zhai..LOL.. or when climbing the mountain, you may get stuck between the gap (it does happen several times a year to some non-slims), or fall off some really narrow paths and get hurt. Adventurous and worthwhile---daniella's comment :D

Zhangjiajie locates in the north of Hu'nan province. You can go to the capital city of Changsha first and then go there by train( 390 km, 5 hours and 109 RMB). You can also fly to Zhangjiajie directly from Beijing (1385 km, 2 hours,1340 RMB,).

  P" P! n+ x& q3 \  F1 \+ WGuilin is considered the most beautiful place by many Chinese. Even if the person you are talking to does not think so, he or she will still have to admit to you that he/she has heard a saying since childhood---"hills and waters in Guilin are Number 1 in the world." Several years ago, there was a song named " I want to go to Guilin",which was very popular for a time.

& R! {1 [2 z% N) Q" X& WKarst landform charaterizes hills and waters there. (They would make you think of phallicism again :P) According to some information I came across on line the other day, in all over the world Guilin is the only place where you can appreciate the nature wonders of karst and at the same time can live there without any difficulties.

As is known, China has a very special system--household registration, which makes it difficult for Chinese people to move even from one city to another. Nowadays, the system has less influence but is still in operation. However, even this can not stop many rich foreigners from taking great trouble to buy estates in Guilin (especially in Yangshuo).

The city of Guilin locates in Guangxi Province. Not far from Vietnam. I only regret that when I was in Guilin, i didn't have enough time to go to Vietnam.

(*^__^*) 嘻嘻……文字确实是小女子自己写的。不过照片多数都是我在网上找的，只有那张色调比较暗的西藏是我拍的。谢谢你的鼓励哦！可惜我不知道爱城的老外都爱上什么网站捏。要是知道的话，一准儿去宣传祖国大好河山并且顺带也解决一下自己的温饱问题

5 E* T* E; p+ Y0 q桂林的市区比我想象的要便利和舒适。作为一座千年古城，据说桂林当年曾经申请联合国的世界遗产，但是被拒了，原因是太现代化了。市区里的小街是真的脏乱的了。市中心的大广场，玻璃塔什么的，很有些大都市的气息呢。

以上的景点我多数都是7、8月份去的，因为只有在那时候我有假期。

8 w9 R$ d; S# m- b. E去九寨的最佳季节是10月，那个时候所有的次生林才显出绚丽的色彩。九寨的水虽然无需陪衬就有夺魂摄魄的魅力，但是有了水边的婆娑多彩的树影，才更加彰显它的美！

张家界没有固定的好季节。我个人的感觉是：金鞭溪啊、武陵源啊什么的，可以走一走，但是不值得花一天的时间。张家界的美在于登上峰顶俯视群峰时的震撼。乌龙寨很险峻，值得一爬哦。最赞的还是白龙天梯，48大将军岩。

Terra Cotta Warriors, reliques of Qin(221B.C.-206B.C.),Han (206B.C.-220A.D.) and Tang(618A.D.-907A.D.) dynasties----if you haven't been to Xi'an to see them by yourself, you can hardly say to others you have been to China.

The mountain of Hua shan is famous for its steepness. Climbing it is really exhausting according to my personal experience.

+ F  r  H; |( L) b+ W- e1 oWhy China is called China? Because the pronunciation of 'chin' is similar to 'qin' (the first dynasty mentioned in the first paragraph). Why do about 92% Chinese people consider themselves as Han nationality? It is right the name of the second dynasty mentioned in the first paragraph. Which dynasty is the most powerful and prosperous in the whole Chinese history?  The third  dynasty mentioned in the first paragraph.

- `0 |/ Z4 F& K- R" G) r0 `. QThe last question and answer. Chinese have another name for themselves----Zhong hua min zu or Hua xia zu. Where did this variant name come from then? Yes, near Xi'an there is a mountain named Hua shan. Some historians believe that this variant name of Chinese derives from the mountain.

'Hua' as a Chinese character means flowers. So you see, the Chinese people have been actually very romantic since thousands of years ago. Dragons are totem of the Chinese people, so are flowers.  hmmmm... the latter makes me even more proud of being Chinese.

Daniella would like to repeat that sentence again: if you haven't been to Xi'an to see them by yourself, you can hardly say to others you have been to China.

* r& u( u" \* p# ~' I" P黄山还没有去过，不过张家界是去过的。天子山、黄石寨等等都很不错，是一个大石林！
