There is no National Park in Windsor, Ont.& ]/ p* U( q. y2 k- E- H8 R
Point Pelee National Park is southeast of Windsor about an hour, near Wheatley, Kingsville and Leamington Ont.$ s1 S; I8 ?7 P
It is the Southernmost land point of Canada , and other than group camping, is a day use park only./ d* r& c% R; D2 J

1 `! s9 g2 W4 p6 Z5 W# CThe National Butterfly count takes place August 8th, and you can pre-register your family to take part, lots of fun for the kiddies (Too Late).
+ K4 s: c4 z0 `/ f. T" S. v( \Great hiking, guides, canoe tours and rentals, bike rentals and the butterfly migration is something to see. Q2 a) g: k+ G8 V* X" z/ L
The ferry to Pelee Island only runs from Kingsville this year, not from Leamington in case your interested in going on the winery tours and hikes there.- h" Q# b1 {5 N0 Q7 U
7 X5 q# ^, b8 ^There are also two Provincial Parks within an hours drive- Wheatley Provincial Park(closest), and Rondeau (farther to the west) if you wish to camp. |
