Position Overview  
( r8 S# q' ]; Z8 c- U2 W, R1 Y7 e The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
3 `: ~# a8 _+ z2 s-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
" g+ N* o' `. ^4 R% Y-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
3 p4 F6 t& ~1 O7 O7 w! ^; g7 X-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
2 S1 q) N  N8 y' ]1 D: `# M, \! g8 O-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
1 N! t8 v; _2 V1 m-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
- o* y, w2 ~9 ~% X-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
% }  Y; B* F1 [7 M-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
7 D+ x4 m' q+ h  w3 c-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
