I start my plants in the house in March and grow them out until May. I transplant into black or green IRT plastic and water them in with fertilizer. Cover them with floating row cover. Every insect in the world likes to eat egg plant and the row cover keeps bugs off the plants and adds the heat they need to get growing. Don't let the eggplant get too dry. I treat my peppers the same way. They both come from the mountains of Mexico where the days are hot and the nights cool. Plant eggplant and peppers about 12 -15 inches apart so the roots are shaded and cooler. They need full sun 6 ~, h6 V5 ]! V: w3 f
